Apple has created a new app to help target classical music lovers. This app makes it easy to find what you need. However, there are weaknesses that need to be addressed before it can truly be the classical music app to rule them all.
Find out why this app is much better for people who love classical music than just a normal streaming service.
You are able to find the composer, the artist, the symphony number, and the nickname all in one place. This makes it a much better experience to find what you are looking for no matter what you remember about it.
Not only is the search catered for classical, but the recommendations for you are much more accurate because they are within same time period. That is a huge win because each time period has unique characteristics and good recommendations help greatly. Another great benefit is that many playlists that are put together for the listeners.
There are great strengths to this app, but there are still flaws that need to be addressed.
There are just flaws that need to be addressed. In my experience there are tiny annoyances that should be fixed such as not being able to see albums on your library and difficult creating a playlist.
There are just some little things that are not bad but could be improved. For example, there is no shuffle button. Little features like those add up and I believe that they can be fixed as time goes on.
Is this the classical music app that we have been waiting for?
While I do feel like this app has great strengths that I wish other apps would include, it still has some refining to do. It in a way kind of hurts the user's experience of the app. It becomes harder to use and less likely to keep using it. I do believe however, that this can be fixed overtime through software updates to make it into a great user experience. If Apple could fix these refinements, it would be an amazing app. I believe that it has the potential to be the app that classical music lovers have been looking for.
