AI has been around for a while. However, there is an increased interest in what AI is capable of. One big factor was ChatGPT. It truly would leave an imprint and change the industry forever.
Microsoft got a headstart on releasing these technologies and what they can do. But what did they do?
Microsoft made a $10 billion dollar investment in OpenAI. They were then able to use many of the technologies from ChatGPT to make a chatbot for Bing. This was a big deal. With these technologies this gave Bing a head start with very well made software.
Microsoft was also making plans to integrate a lot of these AI technologies into their software. They have expressed personally their goal to integrate them across every platform they use.
This does give Bing a good head start ahead of Google in AI. However, there is still a number of things that have to be done in order for them to stay ahead. Including, staying ahead of Google's comeback.
Google will make sure they are able to stay in the lead. They lead with a strong response.
Google has been investing in AI for a long time. So it is not a big surprise when they show off Bard. Bard, Google's response to the Bing chatbot, is a chatbot that does many similar things to the Bing chatbot and hopes that it will be their way of staying in the lead.
Similarly to how Microsoft promised it would integrate their AI into their software, Google has done a similar move. They have showed a video about what could be coming to Google products in the future.
Google made quite a statement in response to Microsoft. They have done similar things. However, many people would agree the Bing is better than Bard. In the AI aspect, Microsoft is ahead. But keep in mind, Google still completely dominates the search market right now.
Is Bing going to be able to compete with the Dominant Google?
Google is a very intelligent company. They will figure out a way to stay dominant in the search market similar to how Apple holds strong in the American smartphone market. However, I believe that we will see a surge of interest in Bing. This could mean we see a bit more competition for Google. Google will need to step up their game to continue to be in their position. But as of now, Google will win.
